This Adirondack-Style Home in California was Built to Accommodate a Growing Family

3/8The husband wanted a house that was "not too fancy," while the wife insisted on "not too ranchy." In the 45-by-22-foot great room, Tucker balanced more masculine western-style elements, such as the massive stone fireplace, against rich ethnic patterns for warmth. 6/8"You can still see the rotary-saw marks," Tucker says of the barn wood on the walls of the main stair. "They give the wood more dimension."
